An AstraZeneca spokesperson declined to comment on the report. Two of the analysts and the shareholder also mentioned that an article published on Monday in Britain's Times newspaper could have affected the shares, though it appeared to contradict the Mail on Sunday report. The Times' article focused on the retirement of Mene Pangalos, the long-time biopharmaceuticals head of research at AstraZeneca, which was announced in July.

Chelsea's new owners self-reported a number of financial transactions during the Abramovich era to European soccer's governing body UEFA, the Premier League and the FA. "We have been pretty open about the historic issues with regard to Chelsea because they self-reported to the Premier League and to the FA so it is obvious we are looking into that," Masters told the newspaper. "If the Premier League believes a club has breached the financial regulations and there is a case to answer, that case will be put to the club." "We want due process to be served in as efficient a way as possible, as quickly as possible," Masters added. Chelsea, who finished 12th in the Premier League following a chaotic campaign, will not be competing in Europe in 2023-24.

Latest 'deadline' looms in Man Utd takeover saga
  + stars: | 2023-06-09 | by ( Mitch Phillips | ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +4 min
LONDON, June 9 (Reuters) - Manchester United fans can be forgiven if they refrain from eagerly checking the news on Friday as the latest "deadline" looms in the meandering seven-month saga of the club's sale that is beginning to resemble the final series of TV's Succession. That comes two months after a "third and final offer" was said to have been tabled. Media reports in the UK suggested that the Glazers are seeking six billion pounds ($7.5 billion), which would be a world record for any sports club or franchise, but that neither bid is that high. Further bids followed, up to the Qatari's earlier this week, which is said to include clearing nearly a billion pounds of club debt and a commitment to a major redevelopment of Old Trafford.
